[sdiy] footswitch switches?

Look at All Electronics PB-18. This is a push on - push off SPDT. I looked
all over for something similar when I found these. The button is actually
plastic. That worried me. But, I have two of these that have seen a lot of
stomp action and held up very well. The outlasted all the old DPDT all metal
switches that used to be commonplace.

The switch is called a Marquardt # 1843 in the All Electronics catalog. I
probably have a couple laying around if you want to get just one and give it
your own stomp test before you buy quantity.

Anyone know a source for these? I looked through an old allied catalog
and i've browsed quite a few pages of mouser online (PDFs suck on slow
machines with ssmall monitors...) and couldn't find anything. I'd need a
few of them, like six or so. Basically they're heavy-duty switches that
are something like a centimeter in diameter. If they're dpdt that's
great but i'd manage with a spst as it is.
