Hello everyone,

In spite of all the confusion lately I have somehow managed
to do something constructive with this chip. See:
http://www.angelfire.com/electronic/epeasant/circuits/76477.
gif for a schematic of a gated noise generator. This
circuit is meant to be used in a percussion synth to create
the "snares" sound of a snare drum. I have added a basic
manual trigger circuit and standard speaker driver for
stand-alone use.

I tried to keep the parts count to a minimum here, with no
extra chips needed. With the VCO switch in the "off"
position the output consists of the standard 76477 noise
signal; with the switch "on" the output is the VCO
controlled by the noise generator. The LFO can also be
switched on to modulate the output at any time. This
circuit can generate quite a wide range of sounds, some
very, very, gritty :)

As usual, comments welcome!

Take care,
Doug
