Hi Ingo

I have modified only the TX816 i owned by the time ... I have solded it now - approx
2 years ago, i do not remind precisely - with the modification inside to a man in
Belgium , through internet ...It was a second hand music shop or a kind of brooker...
I have told to this man this TX was customised. As this mod is transparent to users it
is impossible to know unless you open the TX 816 main front pannel or send a MIDI
controler 20 on the channel 16 ( can be changed inside by a set of dip switches) and
see the input selector value changing ... It was working very well ...
> I'm asking because someone asked me once about that feature (he said
> he knew a TX816 working like this) and I had never heard about it.
I have published files for this modification in a page named " Yamaha TX816 the byte
they forgot " in the early version of my web site ( in late 1998 ) and removed it
when i have relooked my site because stats were close to zero for this subject ...
I have never heard talking or received any e-mail from a DIYer who told me he has
modified a TX816 like this. Also i am still believing this TX816 is a bit unique..But
this do not mean some people have applied this modification without telling it to
anybody ..
This modification was very useful to work in relation with my editor software, PC
version mainly because it was possible to send/receive the 8 TF1 sound banks
automaticaly without toutching anything on the TX .. . This was the goal...

Marc B.
