[sdiy] Update: Jen SX1000 knobs

All,

Thanks to the folks here who pointed me in various directions, my Jen
project ("Jenny"..?) is looking quite interesting.

- Despite the best efforts of Maplin to discourage me, it turns out that
the knobs on the Jen are still made by Cliff Components, and were also
used on the Digisound and EMS VCS systems. You can either buy them direct
from Cliff (subject to minimum order charge) or from other distrbutors,
such as ElectroValue. I do rather fancy the idea of using the chrome
mirrored ones :-)

- Virtually all the pots need replacing, so they're going to be Omeg 20mm
plastic-track ones (last longer than carbon track), again from
ElectroValue.

- Looking at the pot range stocked by ElectroValue, there are some
interesting ideas forming:

a) use a log/rev.log pot on the VCO level to mix in either a sub.osc or
external input (better than dual linar to maintain consistent audio level)

b) dual concentric shaft pots to implement two functions in one panel
space (but precludes use of the standard Cliff knobs). These could be
used for:
   - implementing two (yes, TWO!!) LFOs
   - add LFO shape mix (tri <-> square) to LFO level pots
   - mixing in external input signals along the audio path

All this, AND an M110 clone :-) Looks like a fun year!

Cheers,
Neil
