[sdiy] bananas on blacet dsc

thanks folks, for all the advice. it seems easier than i thought..

actually the idea is as follows. i don't have my own modular, but live 5
mins away from a studio with plenty of them. there's not much point in
starting my own when there are a 2500 and serge so close by.

instead what i want to do is sort of collect circuits and/or pcb's, like the
dark star and some of you guy's other designs that are in some way freaky,
different, etc sound makers or manipulators. maybe the guts of a speak &
spell too. a lofi toy sampler or voice manipulator.. weird stuff and toys,
that's the idea. useable as fx-box or for sound generation, and as much vc
as possible.
i'll mount it all on a big front plate, sort of fenix-style but probably a
bit bigger, and would like to interface them with banana jacks.
this would save me the trouble of having different face plates made and
doing conversions from one format to the other. also this way i can make
different seizes for different functions: for example a ring mod doesn't
have to take up the space of a whole module. peter ullrich also has a
picture on his site of one of his old 76477 machines that somehow i really
like the look of.
so i guess it's not only the dark star, but also others that need to be
'converted' to banana. are there problems with other designs? or is it
always as simple as this?

also tips are welcome, especially about the only 'weak point' in the idea:
power. i've seen lots of different ways and voltages used on designers
websites. i don't want to end up having to power each module
individually..;-) any ideas what road to take here?
then again some toys are battery or wallwart operated and could stay that
way.

and all of this started because i scavenged a big metal box that would serve
perfectly as the main housing....;-)

r./
