Don't forget to make sure you have those cables installed the right way round!

Also:

Because bothersome static charges can become trapped during circuit
assembly leading to a drastic degradation in signal quality, remember to
use anti-static zap gun - the sort once provided for vinyl LPs - on your
PCBs *and* your front panels before turning on the power.

Mains power is much cleaner between the hours of 2am and 5am, so only run
your synth then.

It's very important to use thick strands of humungously expensive OFC cable
for the power lead. (Ideally these should run directly from your home to
the nearest nuclear power station, avoiding noise sources introduced by
your local power grid.)

Including a switch to turn off all the LEDs and displays on a synth will
lead to a drastic improvement in musicality.

Synthesizers which are made in weird shapes with cylinders, cones,
triangles and stainless steel front panels are more musical than those
which come in plain old boxes.

It's a good idea to bi- or even tri-wire your headphone and main output
sockets for maximum drive and fidelity.

Don't run your synthesizer during the peak of the sunspot cycle. It only
picks up more noise.

You're welcome too.

Richard
