This might be what Jim is calling "risky", but I've been using part SWJ2 from All Electronics
http://www.allelectronics.com/cgi-bin/category.cgi?category=190&item=SJW-2&type=store
It's a stereo panel mount 3.5mm jack with N.C. switches. Price is 20 cents in 100's - cheap!
So far I've had no complaints - they seem pretty solid - and I just got the second bacth of 100 I've gone through. Truthfully, I don't know what they'll be like after 10 years of use.
