Hi Folks

The problem with the MAX038 apart from the expense is that they tend to
disappear from stock for months when Maxim can't be arsed to run any wafers
down the line for what is, I guess, one of their less profitable products.
I had this problem when I designed one into a Hammond sound synth in
desperation after trying to make a fast enough HF VCO.  When I needed a
similar HF VCO for a waveform synth I had to use an LM13700 saturated TA amp
circuit instead.  This was more linear at high frequencies anyway.  I always
hate designing-in special function chips;  They always get discontinued.
