Kids,

Thought i'd give ya an update on the sequencer project as I gallop into the
final stages of assembly.

The faceplate is all drilled, all components (outside of one of the four
bank boards with the associated 16 pots) are mounted and assembled on the
backside of the plate (bunches of diodes, resistors associated with the
switching and ground lines for 40 mini plugs, etc.):

Done! No srewups.

Remaining today: wiring up the 25 pin connector which brings +V, ground,
and various I/O to and from the PCBA to the faceplate.

To be done tomorrow: completing and moutning the last bank board . then
It's done and onto my vigorous test procedures before the PCBAs are made.

Comments: it looks really really nice. The photo anodizing place did an
excellent job as usual on the faceplate and I managed to drill the 147 holes
(yikes) without any screw-ups, scratches, etc (my wrist hurt like a dickens
though afterward). Plus I finally got my hands on a 3mm drill bit so the
LEDs fit in very nicely.

But, there was ONE HUGE OVERSIGHT when I sent my faceplate artwork to the
imaging place:

I FORGOT LOCATIONS FOR THE RESET IN AND THE HOLD IN.

sooooOOOOOooooo stupid.

Very luckily, I have a totally workable solution that will look great, even
though those inputs will not be labeled on the faceplate (OK, fine...i can
live with that).

WARNING (why i mentioned this): if you are thinking of making one of these
and elect to use the faceplate model on my site, don't....as this is in fact
missing those two inputs.

I debated telling you all about this, but what the heck. I've I can't be
honest with my analog brethren and sesthren, who can I open up to, ya know?

happy analog daze,

Peter
