[sdiy] Hammond Scanner Vibrato question

Hi,
I think about (finally) making a Hammond Scanner Vibrato emulator.
I've just ordered a bunch of inexpensive inductors - I will measure
them and see if I can compensate the losses well enough. (The original
also had different voltage dividers at the indiviual taps, so I guess
there was some compensation for inductor loss as well.)
If the cheap inductors won't work, I'm going for a FDNR structure.
I have two questions:
(1) How much "overlap" is there in the Scanner for the rotor from one
stator packet to the next?
The stator has 16 sections, that's 22.5 degrees. Surely each sator
packet is smaller than 22.5 deg (there must be some gap ...), and
maybe the rotor packet might be exactly the size of one stator
packet, or larger (unlikely), or smaller (likely). Does anybody
know the details ?
(2) There are basically two versions of the Line Box. The larger one
has 25 inductors (without magnetic coupling); the smaller one has
18 conductors (with coupling). I understand that the latter (smaller)
version was built to get basically the same effect as the earlier
version (for less cost). But how close are the two version in sound?
Thanks in advance for any helpful hints,
JH.
