Hi all --

A couple more observations on the NIC waveshaper.

1.) The opamp output is also interesting. It deforms from square to saw 
with constant amplitude.  What other way is there to do this?  I can only 
think of a variable-gain clipping amplifier,  but this would need very high 
gain to get a steep transition, whereas the NIC divider is intrinsically 
steep.

2.)  Driving the circuit with a tri produces a folded waveform, which may 
also be useful, but again gain compensation would probably be needed.  The 
opamp output in this case deforms from square to triangle with constant 
amplitude.
