Since I tend to agree with the above, may I add a couple of
suggestions :
- this list seems to gather a few blokes thrilled by the
idea of innovation and new tools; so why don't we
set up a kind of informal think tank on that subject ?
That's (more or less) what I tried to initiate in the recent
thread about uCs and DSPs, when describing a few
weird modules projects I am into, but was quite disapointed
by the lack of response...
- for a few months, I have an idea sleeping in a corner of my
brain... Some of you recently mentioned some rather cheap
and easy to implement DSP; about a year ago, Elektor (always
a good source of inspiration) has published a PCI board
prototype with various software tools to implement it...
So here's the idea : why not squeeze 2 or 3 DSP on a PCI
board and develop some 3D interface to control various synthesis/
processing algos running on the DSPs ? I don't mean 3D emulation
of knobs and patches, but some kind of more general (yet simple and
ergonomical) 3D worlds to play with ? This should be rather simple
to implement with openGL...
