I remember some of the big Yamaha organs in the late 70s had this
feature too. They had a little monophonic keyboard above the second
manual. Jolly nice if I remember rightly.

Which brings me a to another point. Its all very well designing the
ultimate controller. But you'll then have to learn how to use it. The
more expressive you make it, the harder it will be to play. I'm not
saying that is a bad thing of course, but it worth remembering that a
real musical instrument takes years [and skill] to learn.

I can imagine the scenario when I have designed the most ingenious
musical controller ever, only to throw it away because it sounded like
shite when I played. :-)
