FYI, Elektor #299 (may 2003) features an
article about echo & reverb on TI DSP evaluation
kits, with some simple source code...

Speaking of DSP based modules, what about
something I've been dreaming of for years : a
realtime VC cross-synthesis module ?
And featuring a trigger input acting like a S&H
for sound freeze ?
