The Mini-Wave is designed to act as a general purpose non-linear transfer
function generator. Being a hybrid analog/digital unit it adds quantization
noise, which can sound loud when you are only swinging a couple of bits (low
input amplitude).
By this time (7 years on) I had hoped to make a 16 bit in, 16 bit out unit,
which would have solved the quantization noise issue. But 16 bit megasample
converters are still too expensive.
