Grant, it was not my intention to say anything against SMT.
I wonder if I actually did. (I've sent that from webmail and
don't have a copy).
Was this thread about SMT at all? I thought it was about
the alleged benefits of certain old, big-sized designs, and I tried
to say that not _all_ of this is hype or black magic.
I refered to a recent _ASIC_ design to give an extreme example
of miniaturisation, but SMT wasn't really a topic for me.
Oh, I remember, I brought that example with polystyrene caps.
Hmm, yes. You can live without these and still sound good.
Is that ok ?
