[sdiy] Which cheap pots are acceptable?

I'll second that one. I use those xicons (17mm mini carbon comps, p.359)
from mouser all of the time (US$0.68 apiece in the 100s), and they work
great. I also get the eagle soft touch knobs (p.829) with them (US$0.36
apiece in the 100s), and they seem to work OK for me (I don't ask for much,
though).
