Subject: [sdiy] Expression pedal

Comrades,

Can anyone point me in the direction of a schematic for an expression pedal?
I know, i know - how lame is that. The reason i need this is not to
understand how it works, but more the configuraion of the tip/ring/sleeve of
its I/O plug so that what I am about to build doesn't blap my Novation to
all hell.

Here's the idea:

The Novation has an input for an expression pedal (bwah-ha-ha-ha-ha). What
I believe it does is supply a +5 signal which is supplied by the Novation
which is then routed through a variable divider in the pedal, which returns
a voltage somewhat less than the supply back into the Novation, which can be
set up as a control sourve for anyone of a number of things with the
linearilty that only a non-midi intrument can afford.

OK, so how hard would it be to replace that pot (pedal) with a CV from a
modular? Not too. So this is want to do, but I definately don't want to
blap my Novation in the process.

Let me know anf thanks in advance,

Peter
