So, I'm replying to myself...
The book was

Which seems to be rather hard to find, however a later book:
Exploring light, radio & sound energy, with projects

0830607587 : 0830617582 (pbk.)  

exists readily.  Anyone know if its the same material just updated, or is it
a typical TAB book with pencil drawings that look like a 3 year old did them
and schematics of hooking up an LED to a 9volt battery as a decorative
accent?
