[sdiy] SMD Joysticks

Has anyone played with the SMD joysticks that seem to be popping up these
days?

the Grayhill 4PST is one, and the Knitter Switch TSSJ series is another.
Saw one of the beasties on an Atmel Butterfly but didnt get to play with
it, wondering if they are usable.  The Butterfly has the TSSJ on it it looks
like which has a tiny surface area and I dont know how easy it would be to
bring it usefully out to a surface, but the 4PST looks like it has a beefy
base and the Bat Handle looks like it might be usable.
Realising of course that they are momentary contact switches...
