I should add, that so far I haven't found a SPICE Model, where EG was 
anything else but 1.11eV and XTI 3.
Likely the engineers who extracted the parameters from real transistors 
were lazy, and used the defaults. But then nobody seems to complain 
about that either, so it can not be that far off the reality.
