I don't know how they do it, but I bought a Dell monitor more than a
year ago on closeout (not flat screen) that has no noticable static
buildup on the front. I first noticed it when I realized I don't
have to clean the dust off of it every 3 days. It's been over a year
now, and I have _never_ needed to clean it! I cannot feel any charge
on it (although I suspect that with correct measuring equipment some
may be found).
I have no idea what the technology is called, but the monitor was $99
brand new (as I said, closeout). This monitor does not have visible
wires in the glass. I believe this might be a cheaper alternative
than TFT. For anyone interested it's a Dell D1226H. It's probably
made by someone else for Dell.
