Indeed, though I sometimes think that the front panel designer and
the PCB designer don't like to talk to each other :=)

Some of the PAiA projects are real spaghetti-plates when they're
all wired up.....but otherwise, they're fine. I built the 9120
Sub-mixer a few years ago and it has served me well. I put it in
a hand-made case which gets more comment than the gear itself....
considering that it's just a silly little mixer, that's the way
it should be.
