Hi Karl!

The Sid chip has its shared deal of bad things:

1: Its noisy.

2: Some of the chips dont close the out DAC to zero
so it will "whine" in the background, youl need a DAC
or VCA placed at the output of sid.(i suggest a SPI
controlled 8 bit DAC wich is enough.)

3: The envelope times are quite coarse!

4:Forgett about getting clean sync at high osc frequencies!

5: In all projects, the "time needed" will always extend
to the unexpected. 

6: Otherwise, check out Torsten Klose's SID design,
or the poly SID design. Wich both are a good start points.
