[sdiy] Optical outputs

I had an idea to create modules that use laser diodes as taps into the
signal path. The module would present an open optical output on it's face.
Using a probe connected to any modulation input it would be possible to
touch the probe to one of these and immediately pick up the signal for use.
You would need a circuit to output CV at the end of the probe, but I think
that the advantage of being able to rapidly patch without any coupling
artifacts would be worth it. Proximity might also control amplitude
depending on the transducer used.

The reverse is probably less desirable because of ambient light pickup,
however it would be interesting in a live situation. The artist aims a
modulated laser at their instrument or some on-stage target and has the
ability to move it rapidly between targets.
