Hi,

Why not use the usual trick of a MOSFET?

For example, see
	http://www.maxim-ic.com/appnotes.cfm/appnote_number/2012

Just need another one for the -ve rail.  Only one transistor per rail,
nothing gets hot.  Especially good for battery-powered circuits as you
don't lose any volts across the diode.
