[sdiy] beginner schematic book

I recently considered myself a beginner and sometimes still feel like one.

As far as what helped me, I agree...Forrest Mims is a great series of
books for an absolute beginner.  I have heard there are mistakes in his
books, but for me, the Mims stuff took the sting out of real basics like
using a transistor as a switch, or ohms law, or how not to fry a diode.

For me, AOE was intimidating at first, even though it has not much math.
Now that my feet are wet, I can get more out of it, but as a beginner it
was pretty far beyond what I could understand.
