Don't know if anyone mentioned this yet, but you can use a sine 
quadrature oscillator to generate a sine of any phase (with respect to 
the sine or cosine output) just by mixing the sine and cosine output in 
a proper relationship (eventually with negative sign). Useful for many 
applications.
