Hi Ethan,
I have (3) VCO4Ds and love them. Definitely worth the price, and they're
nice sounding VCOs.
They can use a few mods to make them better... like buffers on the outputs.
One or two of the waveshapes are picky about the loading of the next module
(VCF, mixer, etc) that is cured by a simple opamp buffer. If the input
impedence of the next module is correct, then there's no problem without
the buffer.
If you're interested in Tom's boards, I highly recommend you sign up for
his mailing list... lots of mods/improvements have been discussed for most
of the PCBs he has made.

PS I have about 20 or 25 EFM modules... feel free to contact me off-list
with questions about them (or subscribe to Tom's list and get multiple
opinions!)
