One more suggestion, two words: Tape formulation.
Okay, two more words: Tape availability.

It occurs to me that you need to make sure that you can still get the right
tape for your tape recorder. I don't know if this is a big deal or not;
probably not, because I assume (watch out!) that all good decks allow you to
set the bias and EQ. But, I wanted to mention it.
