I've always wondered why japanese ppl are often ready to pay
higher prices than anyone else on some rare items...
I'm not too familiar with the market of vintage modular, but here's
an example in another domain : last year I put on eBay a copy of
La Monte Young LP on Shandar from 1978, which usually sells
for $200 / $250. But that time (lucky me) 2 japanese bidders pushed
the final price as high as $630 !
Same thing at vinyl record shops in the Shinjuku area in Tokyo :
I've seen mint copies of rare krautrock LPs from the early 70's at
insane prices...
