hmmm... I know what you mean. I've got the same problem with Tony's
disk.  OTOH I try to play it in my car and it craps out somewhere near the
end of the disk (most of it plays good).  OTOOH some disks that I've burned
do the same thing...

You might see if Exact Audio Copy software might rip a perfect copy that you
could
re-burn using the CD-R of your choice

My first attempt a CD-R had some problems... I could record and play at
home...
but not on a commercial player. If I take my home copy to work, copy it to HD

and re-burn a copy on that CD-R... the result will play on anything.

go figure...
