I second that. When I recently soldered some trhu hole stuff it was more difficult to achieve nice looking joints than in SMD even with lead-free, and it took more time to do it.
It depends on what you're used to. For me it's unpleasant experience to solder thru-hole, other folks may have the same feelings about SMT.
