Yes, but it's a _far_ better idea to prototype algorithms on a
platform with floating point and fast compile cycle i.e. a PC or Mac.
Once the algorithm is in shape then it's time to think about a fixed
point implementation and optimizing the parallel instructions needed
to get performance from a 56k.
