I'll go for Mouser for my first pass at getting components too.
I did notice that Onsemi has a new entry for the NE5517. Its data sheet was entered into their system in Apr '04. Other than that I have not been able to find any distribution or pricing information. Maybe still to new.
There is hope and if all else fails we still know how to build VCAs discretely (let's be discrete and don't tell anyone). Some of those new SOT363 transistor pairs are starting to look pretty good.
Now where is that magnifier I have?
