A buddy of mine, who is a brilliant luthier and an incredibly talented guitar 
tech, uses one of these in his shop these days.  He loves it.

It seems to me that Peterson could probably port that code out to some 
computer platforms and sell strobe tuners to more people.  Hardware is very 
effective copy protection, though.
