I did not mean to say that there is anything wrong with the VCO in
electronic terms, just stating my subjective impression! For instance I
like to start with a lot of harmonic content, so even a "half square"
sawtooth from my unijunction VCO sounds great to me. I thought the VCO
of the FatMan lacked "presence", which I admit is kind of vague. Then
again I haven't been able to get my unit to play for three years, as it
in storage.

You have certainly done some impressive work on expanding the
capabilities of this synth, probably moreso than anyone. I was just
suggesting that as a synthesizer kit project, to really bring out its
full potential one might need to build a fairly elaborate setup. The
effect this has on the simplicity of the kit I suppose can be
considered a benefit or a disadvantage- depending on one's perspective. CJ
