Ah see, from my perspective a success story would be salvaging an IR3109. I was able to open a few 80017As with various cutting devices enough to see what was going on inside, but the IR3109s break much easier than the BA662s.
So you're right, from a learning point it was a success, but I was thinking of reusing those old parts.
