[sdiy] transistor selection

Sounds to me as though there might be high frequency
oscillations!! "Touching a transistor" and having stuff change, is a
dead giveaway of rf instability.

  Subject: [sdiy] transistor selection

The problem w/ the circuit is that it doesn't sample... I think... Sometimes I get a super high pitched am radio out of tune sort of sound. Then, if I touch the transistor I can get it to sample and hold... each time I touch the transistor it samples again... BUT.. the sample goes from that super high pitched sound to such low frequency that the VCO I have it hooked up to simply pulses.. The input is hooked up to another VCO, so Im not sure if its really sampling the input... I wouldn't think I'd get such strange frequencies.
