[sdiy] Bass generator synth DIY

I  find that there are a lot of 'thin' sounding
things that will give a pretty solid bass if you run them
through a filter set just below resonance
(in my case a MS20 filter clone, of which there are a number of 
examples on the net).

But, I am not a dub expert, so I would like to know 
whetehr anyone else thinks this would be suitable?
