Hi Karl,
Personally I would aim to get within at most 2 cents accuracy. This is
possible without too much difficulty with modern DACs and Opamps, even
taking into consideration temperature dependent drift.
Even 2 cents out of tune is just about noticeable to a well trained ear,
and when you have polyphony or multiple synths in tune with each other
you will benefit from this kind of accuracy. Remember also that errors
are cumulative (sometimes in the same direction) - ideally you don't
want to add to the tuning errors already present in your analog VCOs/synths.
