I can't remember exactly when the Frostwave Fat Controller appeared
but I can remember WHERE it appeared! I was in a car with Aran the
designer while Christine the assembly person drove to the factory to get
the
boxes made & suddenly someone (nobody remembers who) said "Fat
Controller!!".
It's very nearly an ex-product, the last couple of dozen are being made at
the moment. Expenses (metalwork & components & postage) have kept
rising, so the last batch is being done to recover the cost of the boxes.
I'm pretty sure they have mostly ended up in happy homes, judging from
feedback.
But I must say, I envy DIYers... only having to get ONE set of parts for
anything... ;D
By the way, the factory managed to fold 100 metal cases INSIDE OUT...
it was a strange feeling trying to fit the assembled PCB inside, the PCB
would
only fit on the OUTSIDE of the box, with the slider knobs inside...
we use a far superior fabricator now!
