The Fender Leslie, otherwise known as the Leslie Model 16 (the same
one used by Stevie Ray Vaughn, among other notables) also had a
styrofoam rotor. It had a 10" speaker. I bought one back in the
70's and drove it from my 100 watt Fender Twin Reverb amp. The 10"
speaker lasted maybe a week or two. I went into the cabinet and
routed the speaker hole out a bit, and installed a 12" Altec Lansing
speaker. I drove the crap out of that cabinet with the same loud amp
for the next few years with no problems. The Styrofoam rotor was not
a problem at all. I imagine that it's still serving someone well to
this day. I don't know if yours has the same rotor, but I'll bet
it's close, if not identical. Does yours have a two-speed motor?
