On the subject of banana jacks, I've used the Johnson stacking banana 
plugs and jacks for a long time and have been very happy with them.
I use the dual banana plugs/jacks for gate/trigger connections, and 
binding posts for ground and power supply taps (handy for testing 
prototypes at the synth)
