Something interesting about this.  I started to look at it and dug around to
see where it came from.   Seems it was born about 8 miles from where the
Speakjet folks are located.  Some more digging around finds this :

If you then compare the pinout and look at the PIC datasheet, it looks like
the Speakjet is also a PIC chip.

Anyhow, I found that interesting esp since someone recently posted about
replacing CEMs with PICs or something and heres a chip that'll do speech or
sounds and based on an off the shelf PIC.

This definatly explains where there is no filter on either chip...
