Find yourelf some SIP sockets. I have a bunch of nice machined SIP
sockets that come in strips of 20, and can be snipped off to form any
length. I use a couple of these for Cs and Rs that are likely to be
changed around. Makes it sort of like a "selected breadboard" where I
can still easily swap a few select parts. Of course, put the ICs
(especially the expensive ones) in good quality sockets. Another thing
I like about the occasional strip/vero/perf board prototype is that I
can save a lot of space by placing the resistors vertically, rather
than horizontally. This makes it a little harder for troubleshooting
and swapping, but for simple stuff it really saves a lot of space.
