mainly have 12au7. I guess a little extra current capacity wont hurt.

That sounds like a good idea. I have just located another transformer that 
has 150V CT. It is about half the price too.

For the heaters I see some circuits use 12V and others use 6V. I even have 
one where it specifies 4V. Does this voltage requirement vary with the tube 
too?
