Nothing supernatural, I assure you.

The seller applied the plastic wrapping only around the long ends of the
OB-X, without sealing off the short ends.  Those were the voids where foam
peanuts got inside.

Even if all ends were wrapped and sealed, just try and unwrap the plastic
without foam peanut pieces clinging to the wrap via static attraction.

I hate the foam peanuts with a passion.  Like I said, they are a PITA to
remove.
