[sdiy] Cambridge UK weekend 2026

Eduardo had a Behringer PP1 audio-MIDI interface (https://www.behringer.com/en/products/0720-ACV) talking to his 2600 which has an envelope-follower. The PP1 seemed to do a good job of tracking when I played it, but not as good as his Roland guitar synths with hex pickups. The PP1 has outputs for 1V/oct pitch CV and gate, but not audio envelope which seems like a missed opportunity.
In the second photo he’s playing a short-scale kid’s guitar that I paid a whole £5 for because I thought it would be funny, then had to reset the neck with some washers and screw the bridge saddles all the way back to get it anywhere close to intonation. That’s plugged into a Sonuus G2M (https://www.soundonsound.com/reviews/sonuus-g2m-v2-i2m-musicport) + my instrument interface (https://shedsynth.wordpress.com/input-a/) with the envelope-follower controlling both VCA & VCF. Tracking is tricky because you have to play absolutely cleanly and monophonically, but Eduardo’s main complaint was the horrible tuning.

I'm booked in to exhibit both days.
