i held off answering this cause i don't have a midi interface at home right
now and i don't want to give you the wrong details.

but since no-one else has stepped up, just bear with me on that:

the basic idea is that you set a bus to "poly" with the menu, and then it
outputs one voice and sends the overflow to the next bus down, which can
also be set to "poly," and so on.

otherwise each bus behaves monophonically, sending a note-on when it
receives its first note-on and a note-off when all notes are released.

the remote (A,B,C,D) and analog (E,F,G,H) busses are identical in this
respect. i think it can theoretically handle 8 voices by cascading all the
note busses.

please check the 225e manual page for more details.
i doubt that there's any firmware problems inhibiting polyphony.
